Pocketful Evergreens – A Collection of Demo Recordings #4
We have now come to the fourth evergreen by Pocketful, enjoy!
Jerker’s comment:
This chord sequence has been lying around for more than 10 years. Last summer, after numerous rough arrangement ideas over the years, this vocal-based version began to take shape. It coincided well with my ambition to experiment with other song structures than the classic ones you always find in pop music. Also, I wanted to write a song without an apparent beat.

Here is the latest news from Ovanbeck.
Heiko is trying to get themselves into the studio to finish off their album with soft alt-country songs. The summer warmth can be a problem.
Pocketful is working hard on a new album. We have no more details on that one yet. But we hope to get a sneak peak in the weeks to come.
Sissy Ven is delayed. We are trying to get him to release a single but he insists on at least releasing a EP. Hopefully this summer.
J&B is delayed.
New act in the making.

This is the third free demo song released from Pocketful’s vault of evergreens.
For every record release there are hundreds of songs that didn’t make the cut. We are glad to give you some of the evergreens from Pocketful’s years in the studio.
Today we bring you “Keep the Engine Running”.
Jerker’s comment:
“Keep the Engine Running”, written and recorded back in 2006, was one of the first tunes that we uploaded on the Pocketful myspace site and I happily recall that we got some really positive feedback from many listeners.
The song is definitely one of my personal Pocketful favourites. The pieces fit so well together and I am also very pleased with the sparse arrangement. This version is slightly remixed and remastered. We really, really hope you will enjoy “Keep the Engine Running”!

ProgressoR has written a great review of Pocketful’s latest EP Ambiguous Signs. 4 out of 5 is the verdict.
Pocketful’s latest EP is making waves in the progressive music community. Progressor / Uzbekistan Progressive Rock Pages has written a great review and giving Ambiguous Signs 4 out of 5. So if you are a progressive rock fan and don’t believe us when we say that Ambiguous Signs is a really great EP read this review. Does great music equal mainstream?
Pocketful’s musical territory is first and foremost residing within the mainstream department, melodic, radio-friendly and with a broad general appeal. Their compositions are more detailed and elaborate than most artists in this field of music however, and although not recommended as such to a progressive rock audience I would suspect many within this crowd might find this album interesting, despite it’s strong commercial leanings and lack of truly adventurous escapades.

Today we are very glad to be releasing the first ep by Heiko.
The Court is Heiko´s first release on Ovanbeck Records. The three track EP displays a wide variety of rock influences from the 70s rock to more contemporary rock.
Fans will recognize the playfulness of traditional rock themes in the songs “Showdown” and “The River” and the more polished suavy sound of “Kings and Queens”. Turn the music up and get a tour of the rock ages while trying to keep your hands from drumming along!
Track list
1. Kings and Queens
2. The River
3. Showdown
And don’t miss the live concert tonight at 18.00 on ovanbeck live!
